Introduction

Visible natural and celestial changes such as sunrise or movements of the moon are referred to for general predictions in astrological charts. While sunrise is referred for various general activities, eclipse of the sun or moon are said to have specific astrological significance.  Some rare celestial events such as the appearance of two or three suns (due to various atmospheric or cosmic reasons) or the formation of a white layer (of cloudy appearance) around the moon have been specifically researched by our ancient rishis who gave valuable predictions for these events in Jyotisha shastra. One such research compilation is the text called Adbhutasāgaram by Vallalasena and Nisshanka Sankararaju. About 900 years ago, this text was said to be a compiled from 90 texts describing the remedies in the form of shanti prakriyas to be followed for the well-being of a country and its specific citizens. Unfortunately, modern education has contributed only to the loss of such valuable knowledge. However, Indic Academy has undertaken the task of reviving this knowledge of the past and bringing it back into common usage. A few insights from this text will be presented by Dr. Chirravuri Sivaramakrishna Sarma in this course.

అద్భుతసాగరం – ప్రాచీనుల ఖగోళవిజ్ఞానము-ప్రభావపరిశీలన

సామాన్యంగా ఆకాశం లో జరిగే మార్పులకు ప్రత్యేక ప్రభావాలు ఉండవు. కానీ విశేషంగా జరిగే మార్పులకు ప్రభావాలు ఉంటాయి. సూర్యోదయం సామాన్యమైతే సూర్యగ్రహణం విశేషం. చంద్రుడు కనిపించడం సామాన్యమైతే చంద్రుడు చుట్టూ కాంతివలయం కనిపించడం విశేషం. ఆకాశం లో ఒక సూర్యుడు కనిపించడం సామాన్యము, ఇద్దరు ముగ్గురు సూర్యులు కనిపించడం విశేషం. ఇలాంటి అంతరిక్ష, ఖగోళ, దృశ్యాలకు విశేష ఫలితాలు ఉంటాయి. వాటిని గమనించిన ఋషులు వాటివల్ల కలిగే శుభ అశుభ ప్రభావాలను దేశ గోచరంగా విస్తృత స్థాయిలో మనకి అందించారు. విశేషించి దోషఫలితాలకు నివారణచర్యలు కూడా శాంతి ప్రక్రియల రూపంలో అందించారు. మన ప్రాచీనులు దేశోపద్రవశాంతులకు అత్యంత ప్రాధాన్యం ఇచ్చారు. ప్రతి ఉగాది నాడు సర్వోపద్రవశాంతిరూపంలో ప్రత్యేక ప్రక్రియ సూచించారు. దురదృష్టవశాత్తు ఆ ప్రక్రియలను పూర్తిగా విస్మరించే స్థాయికి మన లౌకికవిద్యావిధానం ఎదిగింది. కానీ ఇండిక్ అకాడమీ ఆ విద్యలను అందుబాటులోకి తీసుకొచ్చే ప్రయత్నం లో భాగంగా ఈ కోర్సు ప్రారంభిస్తోంది. వల్లాలసేన మరియూ నిశ్శంక శంకరరాజుల ద్వారా 90 గ్రంథాల నుండి 900 సంవత్సరాలక్రితం సంకలనం చేయబడిన అద్భుతసాగరం అనే గ్రంథం లో, ఆకాశం లో జరిగే ఇలాంటి కొన్ని అసామాన్యఘటనలు, వాటి శుభ అశుభ ప్రభావాలు, దోషనివారణ వివరించబడ్డాయి. అద్భుతసాగరం గ్రంథం లోని ఆశక్తికరమైన ముఖ్యాంశాలను డా. చిర్రావూరి శివరామకృష్ణ శర్మగారు విశ్లేషిస్తారు.
